Mileage Rate for Obtaining Medical Care Increased to $0.22 for the Last Four Months of 2005
On Friday, September 9, 2005, the IRS announced that the automotive mileage rate for obtaining medical care has increased from $0.15 to $0.22 per mile. This increased amount is in effect for travel occurring from September 1 through December 31, 2005. Mileage related to medical care prior to September 1, 2005 is still reimbursable at $0.15 per mile.
The IRS has also announced that it will hold off releasing the mileage rate for 2006 until closer to January 1.
