Hannaford Supermarkets Security Breach
HFS Benefits has been made aware of a significant card compromise event involving Hannaford Supermarkets (located in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont). Debit and credit cards used for payment during the period of December 7, 2007 to March 10, 2008 may have been compromised. We have not yet been informed of specific cardholders who may be affected, but Metavante (HFS debit card platform) is working with their partners to identify these cardholders. Note that data was stolen during the card authorization transmission process and no personal information, such as names or addresses, were accessed.
Please ask your cardholders to periodically review their debit card activity. Participants can contact HFS Benefits (888.460.8005, #2) if they have any concerns regarding activity.
