Premium Conversion
The most common component of a Cafeteria Plan is Premium Conversion (Premium Conversion Plan or Premium Only Plan), which permits employees to pay for the cost of their employer-sponsored benefits with pre-tax dollars. Employer-sponsored programs such as health, dental and vision coverage can be included under the premium conversion plan. Other types of coverage may be included such as life and disability insurance, but limitations and tax ramifications will apply.
