CONGRESS STRONGLY CONSIDERING TAXING HEALTH BENEFITS INCLUDING FSAs, HRAs AND HSAs
Significant changes are being discussed in Washington under the heading of "Health Care Reform". Specifically, some of the recommendations include the removal in part or in whole of the tax exemption of employee benefits. The elimination of flexible spending accounts (FSA), health reimbursement accounts (HRA), health savings accounts (HSA) and the taxing of employer provided health insurance are being strongly considered.
The tax savings associated with these plans are significant for employees and their families. HFS Benefits is asking that you contact your elected representatives and let them know if you are against the taxing of employee benefits of any kind. The links at the bottom of the page will allow you to determine how to reach your members of Congress.
As our representatives receive many messages, the most important thing to let them know is your opposition to the taxation of employee benefits. The message can be as short as:
"I oppose the taxation of any employee benefits including health care, flexible spending accounts, health reimbursement accounts and health savings accounts."
